There's a difference between having a reader and having someone who gets it.

Hi, I'm Maria. An actor, a collaborator, and someone who packed up her life in Essex, England and moved to Toronto to pursue this work wholeheartedly. Over a decade of this industry has taught me what it actually takes to show up with honesty and intention.

From Hallmark Christmas movies to an upcoming Netflix series; I've been on hometown theatre stages, dubbed for Netflix and one of my favourite current endeavours is co-writing a sketch comedy series for social media. Every project has taught me something… about presence, preparation, and most importantly, what happens when you stop performing and start feeling it.

Along the way, I've learnt more about my own performance from someone else's observations than I ever have alone. The habits, the patterns, the unconscious choices we make take after take. Having someone in the room who can gently hold a mirror up without judgment or ego is one of the most valuable things you can experience as an actor. That realization is a big part of why I started Your Self Tape Friend.

And through it all… the auditions, the waiting, the wins and the silence of the misses, what has never wavered, is the love. The deep knowing that you’re meant to be a part of this challenging, sometimes lonely but undoubtedly beautiful industry we've all chosen. I’m in it with you and I’m so excited to connect.
